Oasis of Hope foundation is a registered Non-governmental organization committed to transforming lives in the most practical ways. We work in some of the most underserved communities of Sri Lanka, offering tangible support, sustainable solutions, and a message of hope that speaks louder than words. Our core mission is to empower individual and communities through holistic development, addressing both urgent and long term challenges across the following areas, Education, Health and nutrition, sustainable livelihood projects and hope water project.
Our Sustainable livelihood Programs are aimed at building the capacity of families living in impoverished communities. This program provide income generating opportunities, such as small scale businesses, training session to develop skills like sewing so that the families can provide for themselves and their children’s.

Oasis of hope foundation Sri Lanka was born from a simple but life transforming moment in 2018. While on a mountain hiking journey, Joseph, the founder and director encountered a group of children whose; life was wrapped up in an endless cycle of harsh reality of poverty- their eyes dim with hopelessness, their future uncertain . “The burden that he can do something to ease their burden gave birth to what we know as oasis of Hope”.
What began as a small, personal response – sharing Love, support and whatever little he had- gradually grew into a movement. Though we officially got registered later, our work begun earlier, rooted in compassion and conviction that even the smallest act of kindness can become a ripple of lasting change.
Today, Oasis of Hope continues to serve vulnerable communities through practical, life-transforming programs in education, health and nutrition, sustainable livelihoods and hope water project. We are still driven by the same heartbeat of Hope.
Oasis of Hope Foundation Sri Lanka is a legally registered non-profit organization operating under the regulatory framework of the Government of Sri Lanka.
While our grassroots work began in 2018 through community outreach and informal support initiatives, we later pursued legal recognition to expand our impact and operate with full transparency and accountability. Our official registration enables us to collaborate with local authorities, international partners, and donors while maintaining ethical and professional standards in all our projects.

Oasis of Hope Foundation was born from the silent cries of children and families living in the shadows—unseen, unheard, and too often forgotten. Joseph Kimaru, moved by compassion and guided by faith, responded with action. What began as a simple desire to help has grown into a mission of restoring dignity, hope, and practical love to the most vulnerable. Today, he leads the foundation with humility and unwavering belief that every life matters—and that love in action can truly transform lives.
